We just learned that a post-Kiddush talk will be given by Rabbi Judith Hauptman at Manhattan's Town & Village Synagogue (334 East 14th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues, www.tandv.org) on Saturday, January 21st, when we'll already be providing ASL interpretation for the Shabbat Morning Service.
Her topic will be "What Four Very Short Stories in the Babylonian Talmud Tell Us About Jewish Law and Life", based in part on her new book, "The Stories They Tell, Halakhic Anecdotes in the Babylonian Talmud", and we're working to also provide ASL interpretation for this as well should anyone in the Deaf Community wish to attend in person.
Please let us know if you'd like to join us. (The start time is TBD, but I suspect it'd probably be around 12:30pm ET {GMT-5}.) Important details about how to RSVP, and how to send in the needed vaccination information if you'd like to come, follow:
* FULL vaccination (including bivalent boosters, if eligible) is required for all individuals age 5 and up. If you haven't yet done so, please send proof of your up-to-date vaccination status to vaccination@tandv.org. (Please also RSVP via email to Bram at bramweiser@usa.net to let us know you're coming.)
(We don't yet know if this will also be offered via Zoom, but please let us know if you'd be interested in joining us for that if it becomes available, and we'll keep you posted.)
Details about the ASL-interpreted Service that precedes this talk are at https://tandv.org/event/ASLatTandVJan2123. Please email me with any questions you might have.
Thanks, and we'll hope to see you there,
